I am Rebecca, mum to Jack and Toby, and also my furbaby Dusty, a gorgeous miniature dachshund.
We live in Bournemouth, where I also studied Journalism, back in 2005. I have lived in Hook and London, but my heart has always been here. I love the sea and the forest and so it couldn’t be a better location to start a family.
I met my now husband through a friend of mine who tried to set us up…I turned him down (I was seeing someone at the time), but then two years later at their wedding our paths crossed once more and we got married three years later. He swears it was down to his best-man speech – it wasn’t trust me!
We got married in September 2017 at the stunning Athelhampton House in Dorchester and had the most incredible two week honeymoon, safariing in Tanzania followed by a week relaxing in Zanzibar.
On our return we started trying for a baby and in April 2018 discovered I was pregnant, a few weeks after moving house.
With my journalism degree and background in Marketing, I have always loved writing and so, after Jack was born, I decided I would set-up a blog. I thought I would find it cathartic and also a great way of connecting with other Mums. Motherhood can be quite lonely and so I hope that through this blog I can meet new people and share my loves and experiences.
I hope you like what you read. If you do then great! If not, then I’m sorry, and I will try harder!
Join me on my journey, riding the waves of motherhood. It’s certainly not going to be plain sailing! See below for a few favourite family photos!
